§ S · Evidence
Sources & Method
Every dating marker, ply count and hardware year on this site traces back to one of the records below. The ledger is numbered so individual claims can be cited by reference.
Ledger last verified
Method
A claim is stated as fact only when a manufacturer catalog, an official company history, or a published auction record supports it. Collector consensus alone is context, not evidence.
Where the primary-source record is silent — grommet placement per era, exact lug-transition dates, the paper-label to metal-badge cutover — the page says “unverified in available documentation” rather than filling the gap.
Prices and market figures appear only with a named house, date and link. Syndicated market-research percentages with unpublished methodology are not reproduced anywhere on the site.
Documented corrections — a catalog scan, a dated advertisement, a serial-bearing example — are incorporated and the last-verified date on this ledger is advanced.
